History

August 1983

Hiroyuki Kinjo, the founder of the school, established the International Language & Culture Center as a sole proprietorship in Oku-Take, Naha City. Students from various countries, including the Philippines, Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, and Africa, began studying at the school.

May 1986

The business was incorporated as International Language & Culture Center Co., Ltd. The company was established on May 16.

April 1990

Began offering a Japanese Language Teacher Training Course under International Language & Culture Center Co., Ltd.

September 1991

The school was officially designated as a Japanese language school recognized by the Ministry of Justice.

August 1996

The school moved to its current location in Tahara, Naha City (ICLC Japanese Language School).

April 2016

Launched the 420-hour Japanese Language Teacher Training Course under International Language & Culture Center Co., Ltd.

April 2017

The Comprehensive Japanese Language Teacher Training Course was accepted for notification to the Agency for Cultural Affairs under International Language & Culture Center Co., Ltd.

June 2019

Registered as a Registered Support Organization under International Language & Culture Center Co., Ltd.

October 2021

Began operating as a satellite school of the Institute for Japanese Language Teacher Training, Intercultural Japanese Language School under International Language & Culture Center Co., Ltd.

April 2027

Scheduled to be certified as a Certified Japanese Language Education Institution (ICLC Japanese Language School). Currently under application.
